The Early Years

Salt Springs Morris's first danceout, Thornden Morris's Quinceaneras Ale, June 1996.

Karin (right) and, probably, Julia (left) doing "Constant Billy". Yes, one of them is on the wrong foot. In all morris photographs, someone is on the wrong foot. If it doesn't look that way, it's because they're all on the wrong foot. Left to right: Maria, Julia, Peter (musician), Karin, and Bob doing "Constant Billy". Yes, Bob's had did blow off and is now dangling behind him.

Left to right: Bob, Maria, Peter (musician), Karin, and Julia stopping doing "Constant Billy". The Obligatory Group Photo. Left to right: Rich, Bob, Karin, Peter, Julia, Maria, and Heather. Note the vivid red vests (waistcoats, that is) and unmuffled bell pads: Salt Springs Morris definitely has the loudest kit in Syracuse.

Salt Springs Morris's second first danceout, the twentieth annual Syracuse May Day Celebration, 1 May 2000.

Left to right: Julia, Rich, Cydney, Tom, Bob, and (behind Bob) Ann dancing "Young Collins". Three hats on, three hats off. The Obligatory Group Photo. Left to right: Ann, Tom, Rich, Maria, Peter (seated), Cydney, Bob, Julia. Heather was catering to the whims of a 9 month old at the time.

Midsummer celebration, 21 June 2000.

Tom nourishes himself for a hard dance stand ahead. Young Collins: Heather, Cydney, Julia, and Tom. The Webley: Cydney and Tom (Heather in the background).

Dog Days Ale, 8-9 July 2000.

Young Collins at Goose Watch Winery: Heather, Cydney, Tom, Bob, Noah (musician, with Addie close behind). Gallant Hussar at the Ithaca Farmers' Market: Tom, Bob, Rich, Julia. Actually this could have been Young Collins. Or The Webley. Frankly, we have no idea. Update: A team of forensics experts has performed a careful comparison with a videotape of this event and determined that this is indeed Gallant Hussar.
